What do I know?  Why should you listen to me?

Well, there is no easy answer to that question. You can, and indeed will, listen to whoever you want. I will ask you to hear me out though, here are my credentials:

Getting to Where we want to be

There is a long process ahead in terms of achieving real change and progression. We can only play our part, both as individuals and as a collective. In my opinion, it is in our own interests to remain a little cynical about the extent to which certain people or organisations have embraced recovery and peer led initiatives.

Here are some of the ways in which I intend to play my part:

Supporting the development of service users through training and volunteering opportunities. In a bid to kill two birds with one stone I am currently working on a training program for potential Recovery coaches.

Recovery awareness training for staff who currently work in drug and alcohol services.

Supporting the ideas and initiatives of other people who are either in recovery, or support recovery
